RoxAero Aerodynamics Workbench
A virtual wind tunnel for UAV airframes: load a wing or fuselage as a 3D model, set the flow conditions and read lift, drag and flow structure.
Before an airframe is built, it should already have flown — numerically. The Aerodynamics Workbench is Rox Aero's in-house tool for aerodynamic assessment of wings, fuselages and complete UAV airframes, and the basis of the aerodynamic analysis we offer alongside our parts.
Workflow
| Geometry | Import STL models, orient them against the flow, inspect in a 3D viewport |
|---|---|
| Conditions | Wind speed and direction, with a standard-atmosphere model for altitude |
| Fast solver | GPU-accelerated flow solver for interactive, first-order answers |
| Reference solver | Automated OpenFOAM pipeline — case setup, meshing, solve and post-processing |
| Results | Force coefficients, flow visualization and exportable reports |
Two speeds of answer
The interactive solver gives a designer feedback in the time it takes to rotate a model. When a configuration looks promising, the same case is handed to the OpenFOAM pipeline for a higher-fidelity run — without rebuilding the setup by hand.
Airframe studies for customers
Customers developing a new airframe together with our carbon fiber parts — UAV, rocket or aircraft — can request an aerodynamic study as part of the project.
